Chilly crime dramas will be based on Áróra Investigation Book Series

A new crime drama series based in Iceland and the UK will be developed by Icelandic producer Glassriver and ZDF-owned Network Movie, Variety reports. The series will be based on the internationally bestselling “An Áróra Investigation” novels by Lilja Sigurðardóttir. The series will follow Áróra, a fraud investigator with Icelandic roots who returns home to search for her missing sister. But the family mission soon expands into a wider criminal investigation 

Acorn TV axes Whitstable Pearl after three seasons

UK’s The Sun reports that cozy crime drama Whitstable Pearl will not return for a fourth season. Acorn TV says it will focus on other projects. The show had featured Kerry Godliman as a restaurant owner who doubles as a private detective. She was assisted by DCI Mike McGuire, portrayed by Howard Charles, as they investigated crimes in the picturesque Kent seaside town of Whitstable.

Blue Murder Motel opening for business in U.S., Canada, and the UK

Blue Murder Motel, a cozy crime show about a pair of career cops who retire to a beachside town in New Zealand. has been picked up by Acorn TV for the U.S. and Canada and ITV for the UK. In the series, married couple Vinny and Cole, retire to run a motel in a sunny beachside town. But the early retirees find themselves drawn into investigating crimes, with a new case in each episode.
